Our programmes are designed to put you on the path toward a leadership role with us, equipping you with all the skills, experience and understanding you need to excel at Tesco Bank. But there are plenty of steps in the journey. Here’s the route you’ll take.

Stage 1

Pick your programme

We have a range of different programmes, each focusing on an area within the bank and offering its own range of experiences and training. Take a look and see what suits you.

Stage 2

Apply online

It’s your first chance to tell us about yourself, so take your time and make sure that everything is accurate and remember to check all the details before you send them on. You can get started here.

Stage 3

Telephone Interview & Online Assessment

Now it's time to show us what you’re made of. We’ll speak to you in a short telephone interview, this can be booked at a time that’s convenient for you. The telephone interview is designed to let you show us a little personality. Pass this, and you’ll then complete some online assessments - You’ll find plenty of examples online for practicing.

Stage 4

Assessment & face-to-face interview

Make it through the telephone interview and online assessments, and we’ll invite you to our Edinburgh HQ, giving us the chance to meet you in person and assess your abilities. The day will include a number of different exercises to inspire and challenge you, as well as meeting some of our colleagues – details of which we’ll send you before you arrive.

Stage 5

Job offer

If you’ve got what it takes to be part of the programme, we'll let you know within 2 weeks of your assessment date, at the latest. Then we can start making arrangements for bringing you on board and harnessing your big ideas.

Stage 6

Getting started

Our programmes don’t start with a push into the deep end. On the contrary, we think the best start to your career is all about preparation. We’ll give you a solid introduction to the business and your programme, giving you any tips or advice you might need – as well as introducing you to your fellow graduates. Programmes start in September, but if you want to get going a little earlier, this may be possible.

Stage 7

Your rotations

The 2-year programme (or 3 years for Finance) is split into 6-month rotations, each spent working in a different team around your chosen area – or in the case of the General Leadership Programme, in different functions around the business. This means that you’ll learn skills on the job and vital experience, while getting the in-depth understanding you’ll need for a leadership role later down the line.

Stage 8

Choosing your path

Our Graduate Programme offers a framework for your development, but it's not set in stone. You’ll have regular meetings and discussions with your mentor throughout your programme about where you next step lies. Whether that’s about your next rotation, some useful training activities or about a project you want to get involved in, you’ll have the chance to take an active role in shaping your own route.

Stage 9

Take a leading role

Our Graduate Programme is designed to produce the managers and specialists that will lead our business in the future – it’s only meant to be a first step in your journey with us. So if you’ve made the most of our Graduate Programme, we'll make sure your next step is a big step, into a role that lets you turn what you’ve learned into a huge impact on our business.
